Hydro Ottawa is continuing its environmental commitment with the acquisition of a 2012 Chevrolet Volt – Canada’s first electric car with extended gas range.
The Chevrolet Volt is being driven by Hydro Ottawa’s Conservation and Demand Management Team when promoting conservation initiatives throughout the community. By replacing an existing gas powered vehicle with the Chevrolet Volt, Hydro Ottawa will be able to further reduce its carbon emissions. Hydro Ottawa’s fleet is made up of approximately 200 vehicles, which include hybrid cars, hybrid pick-up trucks, flex-fuel vehicles and battery powered maintenance vehicles.
